The Ontario Harp Society (Ontario Chapter of the American Harp Society) works to promote and foster the appreciation of the harp as a musical instrument throughout the Province of Ontario. The Harp Society is dedicated to encouraging the composition of new music for the harp by Canadian composers and improving the quality of performance of harpists. We encourage and support young harpists through the presentation of scholarships.
The American Harp Society is a non profit corporation, grown from the needs of harpists - performers, teachers, and pupils. Founded in 1962, membership in the Society is now over 3000 with chapters throughout the Americas, including the Ontario Harp Society.

Marie Lorcini, 1930-2024
Marie was a force of nature as a person, as a harpist and as a pedagogue. She was Principal harpist of London Symphony Orchestra and Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra for many years as well as being a soloist and chamber musician, premiering many Canadian works for harp. Marie was a dear vibrant friend of our Ontario harp community. - obituary
Dorothy White, 1928-2021
Our dear friend and harp colleague passed away peacefully on December 19th. Dorothy was a professional flutist and harpist originally from Springfield, Missouri who made Toronto her home in 1968. Dorothy was a longtime member of the AHS and of our local OHS (formerly THS) and was always interested and supportive of the harpists in her community. "She possessed a gift for enduring friendships and a genuine interest in the lives of other people." - obituary
